Simon Plumb was one of the joint winners of the NCPS Poynton Show competition, and received free membership of the club for this season. To introduce Simon to the club I asked him for a few words about himself.

“I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures and I’d been told by family and friends for many years I had a good eye for an image. My dad was a very keen nature photographer and I inherited his camera after his death 2 years ago. It’s a Canon EOS 70d with a 17-85mm lens. I also have a 100-400mm zoom.

Living so close to gorgeous countryside I’ve tended towards landscape photography but as I have a camera with me most of the time I shoot whatever takes my interest. This years Poynton show was the first time I had entered any competition and was very pleased to win the years membership of your club! It’s also given me the confidence to start a Si Plumb photography Facebook page and have started to sell a few canvases!

Although I may have ‘a good eye’ my technical knowledge of cameras and lenses is fairly limited so I’m hoping membership of the club will enable me to gain more knowledge and swap experiences with fellow members.”
