The Martin Avery interclub competition was instigated by Tony Myers about 15 years ago in memory of Martin. Tony and Martin were both creative photographers who ran workshops for others to encourage participation in the genre. The Martin Avery trophy has the medals that Martin won embedded within it.

The overall outcome from last night’s competition was as follows: Six clubs took part and 72 prints were reviewed by the Judge, Dave Butler.  Dave did a fantastic job of judging, and was particularly scathing of entries that had little or no creative input from the photographer.  The lowest mark he gave was 12. Each club could enter 12 images, with a maximum of 2 per author.
