This is a prints-only (BPE-qualifying) Exhibition being run by the (relatively) local SRG Group founded by Dianne Owen and incld many of our photographic friends including Gordon Jenkins and Adrian and Jane Lines.  It follows their highly successful inaugural Exhibition held last year at Dobbies Garden Centre in Southport (which despite sounding a bit weird is a great location with good exhibition space, plenty of free parking and a café that does fantastic cakes and pastries). As those of you who know Dianne will know the SRG Group believes passionately that a photograph is not a digital image, but is a piece of photographic paper, i.e. a print. They run this exhibition as a celebration of the print medium and as a contribution to keeping this format alive in an age of growing digital dominance. You might want to visit the Exhibition which will run during August; more importantly YOU MIGHT WANT TO ENTER SOME PRINTS even if you don’t normally enter Exhibitions / Salons. The categories are very interesting; not the usual colour, mono and Nature, but are:

# Believable Reality

# Creatures of the World

# Humanity

#Step Out of the Box

And, digital manipulation is allowed  (not mandatory!)  in all FOUR sections. If that doesn’t intrigue you I don’t know what will.

Ordinarily, it’s a bit of a faff entering print exhibitions because you have to post the prints and arrange for them to be posted back (or use one of the drop off points), but these people are our friends and we can make that process relatively trouble-free for anyone who wants to enter. I most certainly will, so if you’re interested or just intrigued please check out

and then let me know by e-mail. The closing date for receipt of your entry is 13th July.

All prints will be returned in good time to use at Ormskirk.
