We have had to rethink some of our plans for the exhibition arrangements.
Due to the hall being in the midst of its building programme and the kitchen hard to access we have decided that for the 2 nights of the competitions we will be serving squash and water only (and biscuits of course!). We were faced with having the water boiler in the room with us (ok for club nights) and/or ferrying boiling water from the kitchen which was a non-starter on safety grounds alone. With so many people coming we think it would present too much of a challenge to deal with the large volumes of water required, hence the above decision.
We have also decided that for this year we won’t be holding our usual Social Evening on the Friday evening. Again the catering situation was the main factor.
I had held off making any firm arrangements to see what state the hall would be in and it has been worthwhile delaying. I apologise for snookering what has become an enjoyable part of club social life but felt it would be for the best, and I look forward to next years exhibition being better than ever.
