Last night NCPS came 9th in the L&CPU knock-out competition. It took place in Chorley, and 45 (yes, 45!) clubs participated. The format of the competiton is as follows: Clubs submit 8 PDIs and depending on how may clubs enter 4 or more may be used.  Last night each club had four images in round 1. All the images are shown in the first round and each image either stays in the competition or is removed. If it’s removed it scores 1 point for the club. Round 2 is then held (with eliminated images scoring 2 for the club) and the process repeats  until the judge is able to select a winner from the remaining images.  Yesterday, the competition resulted in 8 rounds, meaning that the images in this last round scored 8.  A final winning image was selected – Starling Squabble by Martin Jump from Preston.

The winning club was Chorley with a total of 20 points. NCPS came joint 9th with 14 points, and Wigan 10 were joint 13th. The top clubs are listed below:

  • 1st     Chorley 20 points
  • 2nd   Preston and The Evolve Group 18 points
  • 4th    Southport 17 points
  • 5th    Holmes Chapel 16 points
  • 6th    Birkenhead, South Manchester and Bury 14 points
  • 9th    Poulton-le Fylde, Accrington, Ribblesdale, and NCPS 13 points
