Ian joined us on Tuesday to give the most entertaining talk we’ve heard for a very long time!  Ian is a professional photographer and in recent times he has been working on projects about the closure of mines and factories.  His photographs captured the pride, sense of loss and character of the workers involved in these closures, and along the way he told us some hilarious stories mostly about how his career developed, starting with his expulsion from school involving permanent purple dye (you should have been there)! He also talked about a project using an enormous box camera (6 by 8 feet in size) and the challenges involved, again with more stories!

The turnout for the evening from our members was disappointing, but those that braved the weather enjoyed a real treat.
