There was a very healthy 41 clubs represented in the competition each providing 4 images making a total of 164 to be judged. Each round saw images eliminated so after round 1 the 164 was reduced to 125, after round 2 to 75,  after round 3 to 26, and after round 4  just 5 images were left to score the full 5 marks in round 5.

Unfortunately 3 of our images went out in round 2 ( Noel- All eyes on the ball, Paul Great Crested Grebe with Perch, Annette Serenity) and Jackie’s House on the Hill went out in round 3. Giving us a total score of 9 (2,2,2,&3) and =18th place.

The joint leaders at the end of the night were Crewe PS and Southport PS with a tie-break image from each club being judged and going to Southport the overall winners. Congratulations to them.

Judging by Malcolm Kus DPAGB, EFIAP/b, ARPS was very positive and resulted in a wide range of image types being represented in the final round.

Thanks to everyone who helped out to make this a smoothly run evening.

While the screen, venue, sound system, tea and coffee were provided by NCPS, the L&CPU used their own projector. Why they used a projector which was clearly faulty is beyond me making it impossible to assess the quality of any of the mono images which all had a terrible green cast, which the judge was asked to ignore!
