Well it’s all coming together…. What exactly is coming together I hear you demur?
We are doing our best to make sure we use The 2026 Poynton Show to show off our individual photographic skills and in so doing publicise our club, with a view to attracting new members. It’s an ideal opportunity.
A small team of Joyce Street, Karen Edmondson, Martin Pickles and Jerry Niman will be there on the day. We hope Jon Allanson can make it as well but Jon has given his apologies as he can’t judge this year. We hope he can make it on the day and wish him well.
Joyce and Karen will judge the photographic work produced for the show by the general public in the early morning. Between 8am and 10am.
Martin and Jerry will erect our display area in that time frame. The general public are allowed in at 10am. We have two terrific display stands and we will be showing around 16 mounted prints.
We will also have A5 leaflets on the day to hand out to passers by who take an interest in our display, inviting them to come along to our first night of the new season on 1st September. We will work to a rota so that there is at least one NCPS member on the stand at all times. The show finishes around 4pm.
So that’s the display area for an NCPS stand and it’s organisation and purpose.
But there’s more. Sorry!! I have organised with the Show Committee and with Dave B that we hold a ‘show and tell’ evening on Tue 24th November of images taken at the show by as many NCPS members as possible who turn out on the day. The Show committee will come along on the night and help us judge the images as they want to use them to adorn their web-site.
Unfortunately Dave, Neil and myself cannot make that day. So can we please give this day priority. We have in all 6 free passes from the organisers but 3 are already taken for the NCPS team. I’m sure we can get a few more if needed.
So can I ask you all to consider this event as an important fixture in our calendar and come along and support us. Do bring your gear!
