A considerable head of steam seems to be building for an early evening photo shoot to bag some common (or not so common) hares during this their annual boxing season. It transpires that our very own Lyme Park is the Northern epicentre of activity. Not only that, but courtesy of the Park Rangers, we’ve been advised that the most likely place to find them is  “on the flats up to the Cage, just to the left as you are coming up the main drive”. There are only two times in the day when we’re likely to see them – either early morning shortly after dawn or late afternoon / early evening at dusk. Given that the Park is only open 8am to 6pm this presents something of a challenge at the moment. However, come 29th/30th March the clocks go forward and the park is open until 8.30pm. Thus, we might want to go on Sunday 3oth (Mothering Sunday) meeting at say 6pm and / or one day during the following week meeting at the same time. Wednesday has been suggested as a good day for several folk despite it being the day the club walkers go out for their constitutional. If you’re interested please let me know and I’ll organise the best day(s) to get folks together. Wednesdays don’t fly for me so I’ll be perfectly happy to get folks together in groups on different days to suit differing availabilities. It matters not whether you’re a wildlife expert or have never done this before. If you fancy giving it a go, give it a go! Weather permitting, I’m most likely to be there on Tuesday 1st April.

Remember, you can’t win if you don’t take photographs.
